The
older generation of this camera is an affordable, capable little camera that has quite a few features.
This new version has the same features as the older version, but many of those features are upgraded. For example, this camera has
higher resolution and
longer night-vision range. It also gives you
dual-band Wi-Fi support, while the older camera works only on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi
Pan, tilt, and digital zoom
This Amcrest camera has a narrower field of view than other Internet Protocol (IP) cameras like the YI Home 2 and Nest Cam Indoor, but while those cameras have a fixed focal point, the UltraHD 2K camera can pan, tilt, and zoom for more coverage.
High resolution
Standard HD cameras have 1080p resolution, but this one is a little sharper—it comes with 1296p, so you get more detailed images.
Local and cloud storage
Many competitors’ cameras offer only cloud storage, but if you purchase a Micro SD card, you can store files locally. This is a good backup if you don’t want to rely on an internet connection or if you don’t want to pay for cloud storage.
Affordable price
The UltraHD is a little less expensive than both the Nest Cam and the YI Home 2. It’s not identical to those cameras, but it can meet most of the same needs.
